Name the workflow
Pick one job that repeats. Closing the books. Drafting a client update. Routing an inbound request. If you cannot point at the steps, we are not ready to automate.

Place the intelligence
Decide what a model or agent should draft, classify, or fetch, and what a person must still approve. Copilot in the spreadsheet is a different placement than a custom agent on a private folder.

Run it in operations
The work has to survive Tuesday. Same inputs, a clear handoff, and a way to see when it failed. A demo that only works on sample files is not the engagement.
